Google Code Hosting is Closed March 12 2015
Google has decided to close the project Google Code .
In Google’s official blog explains that during the launch of the project in 2006, the reality was very different than today. At that time there was no reliable hosts for free code. Later became popular projects such as Github and Bitbucket, so that the need for your own hosting disappeared.
Google announced that even their own open source projects it carries on Github . The decision is also related to the fact that in recent years the majority of developers have gone to Google Code, and often used the site for hosting malicious code placement.
So, yesterday on Google Code prohibited the creation of new projects. Complete closure of the service is scheduled for 25 January 2016.
On 24 August 2015 the site goes into read-only, and will be opened read-only acquaintance with the code and comments.
To transfer projects on Github Google Code recommends that you use the appropriate utility to export .Similar programs exist for Bitbucket and SourceForge.
